Positioning

Your profile is your professional passport.

A strong profile demonstrates how you work and what you deliver. It gives employers confidence because it shows real decisions, real constraints, and real outcomes. For example:

Profiles that demonstrate capability

  • Completing a complex migration without data loss
  • Improving a process
  • Delivering a measurable outcome
  • Showing the context and constraints around the job
  • Working with tight deadlines, legacy systems or limited resources

Keep your expertise clear

Focus your profile on the services, experience and outcomes that best represent your professional work.

Accepting the offer

Respond to a job offer

Accepting an offer

When a company invites you to a job, you review the job terms — the scope, project structure, timing and commercial agreement.

If everything is clear and aligned with your expectations, you accept the offer.

Acceptance confirms that you agree to the job, the timeline, and the rate, and that you are ready to begin once pre-funding is in place.

Declining an offer

If the job does not fit your expertise, your availability, or your professional direction, you can decline the offer.

Declining simply signals that you are not taking the job. It keeps the process respectful and allows the employer to move forward with other talents.

Before you begin

Prepare for the job

  • Know your professional rate, availability and working rhythm
  • Keep your Business number and professional details up to date
  • Keep your profile and CV updated with completed work
  • Have your invoicing details ready
  • Confirm the scope, timeline, deliverables and rate with the employer
  • Confirm whether the work setup is on site, remote or hybrid
Independence

Keep your autonomy in longer jobs

Longer jobs can become an important part of your independent business.

1

Work towards clear outcomes

Agree the deliverables, timeline and project structure for a larger job.

2

Use your professional working methods

Discuss the access, tools and collaboration requirements needed for the job.

3

Build your professional experience

Use completed jobs to strengthen your expertise, profile and CV.

4

Invoice the employer

You invoice the employer in your own name. Where applicable, you can create and send invoices through VirtualMasst’s PEPPOL network.

Your next step

Create your professional profile

Focus your profile on the work you do best, your experience and the outcomes you have delivered. A clear profile helps the right employers find you.
