Head-question
  • What is VirtualMasst?

VirtualMasst is a Belgian-based B2B freelance platform connecting companies directly with verified independent freelancers and consultants across Europe. Professionals are reviewed before becoming visible on the platform, including their professional profile and applicable business information such as VAT or company registration. Companies can post opportunities, discover talent, communicate, agree on assignments and manage the hiring process directly on VirtualMasst — reducing the influx of CVs, emails and fragmented exchanges outside the platform. Payments are securely pre-funded and processed through Stripe Connect. Companies and professionals contract directly with each other; VirtualMasst is not a recruitment or staffing agency.

    How do we approach hiring?

vMasst platform offers two flexible ways to hire or work with an independent freelancer or consultant:

    • Private job/project post: you can send a personalised job offer to a specific independent freelancer or consultant. They can review your offer, including the rate and conditions, and either accept or decline. It's direct, efficient, and tailored.

    • Public job/project post: your job is visible to all registered independent freelancers. You’ll receive applications and can select the right candidate based on their skills, experience, and availability.

    Who can join VirtualMasst?

We welcome independent freelancers and consultants, and companies from various industries and all size.
For detail information please read our Terms of Use.

Does VirtualMasst hire independent freelancers or Consultants on behalf of employers?

No! We offer a platform where businesses post projects and independent freelancers apply directly. The company chooses who they want to work with — not us.

We review profiles before they become visible on VirtualMasst. A CV is required as part of the profile. Profiles submitted without a CV may be declined until the required information is provided. VirtualMasst does not assess or rank freelancers based on the quality of their experience or portfolio. If your profile is not approved, don’t take it personally. You are welcome to improve your profile and try again.

What types of working arrangements can I have with freelancers?

You can choose from several working arrangements depending on your project requirements and operational setup. If you're open to collaborating with independent freelancers across borders or prefer local professionals for in-person work, vMasst accommodates both.

Remote work: this arrangement allows freelancers to contribute from any location. It's well-suited for businesses seeking flexibility, specialised skills, or support beyond their immediate area.

On-site engagements: If your business has a physical office, you can connect with freelancers in your region who are open to working on-site. This is ideal for roles that benefit from direct collaboration or access to in-house resources.

Hybrid arrangements: a combination of remote and in-person work, suitable when proximity allows. Hybrid setups work well for businesses that value occasional face-to-face interaction while maintaining flexibility.

One-time projects are best for short-term assignments with clearly defined outcomes. This option is efficient for businesses needing focused input without long-term commitment.

Ongoing or long-term collaborations: are recommended for sustained support or evolving projects. This arrangement fosters continuity and deeper integration with your team.

Do I need to pre-fund the entire project?

No. You only fund the work you are ordering.

For a short assignment, you pre-fund the agreed amount before the freelancer starts.

For example, if you hire a freelancer for 5 or 40 hours, you fund those agreed hours based on the confirmed rate.

For a fixed-price project of €5,000, the €5,000 project amount is funded before work begins.

For larger or longer projects, the work can be divided into milestones. In that case, you fund the agreed milestone rather than the entire project value at once. Once a milestone is completed and approved according to the agreed terms, the secured funds are released and the next milestone can proceed.

This helps protect both sides: the freelancer knows the agreed work is funded before starting, while the company retains control over the release of funds according to the agreed project or milestone terms.

    How do I pay freelancers?

All payments are made upfront through our secure payment system powered by Stripe. Enterprises must fund  each milestone—before any work begins. This eliminates late payments and protects Independent freelancers from unpaid work.

    Key points:

    • You do not pay the freelancer directly.

    • You fund the mission via the platform using a valid payment method and receive a proforma invoice

    • All transactions are securely handled through our licensed financial partner and fully transparent.

    • For full payment procedures, including refunds and processing times, refer to our Terms of Use

Can I work with multiple freelancers on one project?

Absolutely—yes! With vMasst platform, you have the freedom to build your ideal team by working with multiple freelancers on a single project. You can assign roles based on your needs and budget, bringing together the right mix of talent to get the job done efficiently. We even encourage you to step out of your comfort zone—connect with professionals you might never have considered working with due to distance, location, or time zones. Great talent knows no borders
