Everyone has a personal assistant today: using AI to find work, without trusting it blindly
Updated: Oct 28
Welcome to Europe has skills. When we started this series, the idea was simple and hopeful: put talented people across Europe in the spotlight and help them find work.
Now we are taking the next step. We are focusing first on ICT and STEM roles: science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Over time, we want to spotlight these jobs by region, by country, by sector, and perhaps even by city.
Before we get there, let's talk about the assistant almost everyone has today: AI.
How AI can help you find work
AI is becoming the new job search assistant. It is fast, efficient and available at any hour. It can help you:
Rewrite your CV so it fits a specific role.
Spot missing skills and errors in your CV, and suggest what to correct or learn.
Prepare for interviews.
Draft cover letters.
Alert you when a job appears that fits your profile.
Research a company before you apply.
Don't trust AI blindly
AI is a tool, not a brain. It is not a mentor, and it will not replace your judgement.
Your CV: AI can rewrite it, but you must check every line. You know what you did in your career. AI does not.
Your cover letter: AI can draft it, but you must add your own voice, your thoughts and your motivation.
Your research: AI can tell you about a company, but only you can decide whether it fits your goals and your values.
Use AI as a starting point, not as the final truth. Use it to go faster, not to replace your skills. Employers want to see the real you, and many can tell when a CV was written by AI alone.
Tools you can use
There are many AI tools that can support your job search. In the video, I mention a few:
ChatGPT and Copilot, for rewriting, tailoring your CV and preparing for interviews.
Kickresume, for CV templates and AI writing.
Rezi, for optimising your CV.
Teal, for tracking your job applications.
And if you are a freelancer looking for missions, VirtualMasst is a European platform built to help independent professionals find work.
