THE PROCESS

Invoicing

See how a freelancer invoicing platform Europe workflow connects the job agreement, talent invoice, employer pre-funding and payment release.

On VirtualMasst, the talent invoices the employer in their own name. The employer pre-funds the agreed work through Stripe and releases payment after confirming completion.

Read the Terms

The employer chooses the talent, manages the collaboration and approves the completed job.

The talent delivers the agreed job and invoices the employer directly.

JOBS

Connect the invoice to an agreed job

A job sets out the expected outcome, timeline, scope and commercial basis.

The employer and talent agree the work directly before the payment process begins.

Public

Registered talents can find public jobs in the relevant category and apply when the job matches their expertise.

Private

A private job is visible to the talents the employer invites.

The other way round

Employers can explore talent profiles, start a conversation and invite someone directly to a job.

Whichever route is used, the talent invoices the employer for the agreed work.

SELECTION

Choose the talent before the invoicing process begins

How profiles support selection

Talent profiles are reviewed and approved by the VirtualMasst team.

The employer decides who is right for the job and agrees the commercial terms directly with that talent.

SCOPE

Agree the details that support invoicing

The employer and talent agree the collaboration directly.

  • The deliverables and expected outcome
  • The price or rate
  • The timeline
  • Acceptance criteria
  • Important dependencies
  • Whether a larger job will be split into several projects

These agreed terms provide the commercial basis for the work and the talent’s invoice.

PRE-FUNDING

Pre-fund the agreed work before it starts

VirtualMasst facilitates pre-funding and payment through Stripe.

The employer pays upfront by credit card or bank transfer.

Funds are held within the Stripe payment flow until release.

Hourly or short-term work

The confirmed scope or agreed hours are pre-funded before work begins.

Fixed-price work

The agreed fixed amount is pre-funded before work begins.

Larger jobs

For a larger job, the employer can decide to split the work into several projects.

Each project is pre-funded before work on that project begins.

Current charges are listed on Pricing.

RELEASE

Invoice, approve and release payment

The employer controls approval and payment release.

Complete the agreed work

The employer reviews the completed work against the agreed criteria for that project.

Invoice and release

The talent invoices the employer in their own name.

When the agreed work is complete, the employer confirms completion and releases payment.

Talents across Europe can use VirtualMasst's PEPPOL invoicing when required.

Payout follows

The payment process then continues through Stripe after the employer releases payment.

No-bidding process

LARGER JOBS

Handle invoicing across several projects

For a larger job, the employer can decide to organise the work as several projects.

Pre-fund each project

Each project is pre-funded before work on that project begins.

Review each project

The employer reviews the completed work against the agreed scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria.

Confirm and release

The employer confirms completion and releases payment for that project.

The talent invoices the employer in their own name.

The next project can then proceed under its own agreed scope, deliverables and terms.
