Payment on VirtualMasst platfrom

Updated: Sep 14

Payment on VirtualMasst platfrom

Prior to paying a freelancer, you must create an employer profile and provide all necessary information. Our team will examine your submission to confirm it meets platform standards.

Once approved, you'll be able to post jobs, hire talent, and eventually pay talent salary according to your initial agreement or offer.

How to pay on VirtualMasst

Step 1: Understand How payment works On VirtualMasst, clients pay freelancers according to the offer they’ve set and agreed upon. The process is very easy and transparent — the rate, the scope, and the expected timeline are all aligned from the start.

But there are a few important rules to keep in mind:

Minimum mission size

Every job on VirtualMasst starts at a minimum budget. This is our golden rule of 20 hours at €15/hour — the baseline for what we consider a fair and professional engagement. It sets a clear signal: if a project is worth doing, it's worth doing properly. Small "test tasks" may exist, but they rarely build lasting collaborations. At VM, we want to make sure both the client (s) and the freelancer enter the partnership with commitment and seriousness. And if your mission is a little more ambitious — like, say, building a house — then of course, that will take you well past the thousands mark. 😉

Minimum time commitment

Independent freelancers should be offered a minimum of 20 hours of work or 10hours exceptionally. This requirement isn't just about protecting their pay; it's about ensuring that projects have enough depth to be meaningful. When freelancers work for less than 15 hours, they cannot fully invest in understanding your business, workflow, or goals. By establishing a 20-hour minimum, we ensure that every project has enough time to create real value.

Minimum hourly rate

The starting rate on VirtualMasst is €15 per hour. Rates below this undervalue skills, effort, and professionalism. For context, €15 per hour is an acceptable entry point across many industries in Europe, ensuring that freelancers are fairly compensated while providing clients access to affordable talent. If your budget does not allow for this rate, we advise you to come back when your budget aligns with our standard. We've designed VirtualMasst for professionals who prioritise genuine work and sustainable results—and of course, valorise the freelancer's work. Remember, they are entrepreneurs after all.

Step 2: Post a Job & Set the Offer

When you post your job, you’ll be asked to define the budget, the hourly rate, and the scope. Make sure your offer is realistic — quality independent freelancers expect quality offers.

Clear scope = fewer misunderstandings

Fair budget = better results

Transparent terms = long-term trust

Step 3: Hire & Pay

Once your freelancer accepts, you’re good to go. Payments are handled directly through the VM platform, ensuring security and transparency for both sides. Funds are tied to the agreed offer, so freelancers get paid what they deserve, and clients pay exactly what they committed to.

Why do we set minimums?

Our minimums are not just numbers on a page; they are part of our philosophy. They protect Independent freelancers from undervaluation and ensure that clients work with motivated, skilled professionals who are ready to deliver their best. At VirtualMasst, we believe that fair work deserves fair pay, and that principle forms the backbone of our platform.

Another important reason for these standards is to protect the integrity of our marketplace. By setting clear entry requirements, we filter out fake jobs and unreliable employers who might waste time or take advantage of talent. We are building a professional ecosystem where trust matters. That means we are patient in our growth: we would rather connect a smaller number of serious clients with great freelancers than flood the platform with low-value or fake opportunities.

Building Trust, One Mission at a Time

In the long run, these standards benefit everyone. Independent Freelancers feel secure investing their time and skills, while clients gain access to professionals who are truly motivated to deliver results. By focusing on quality over quantity, we ensure that VirtualMasst remains a trusted space for meaningful collaborations.

“At VirtualMasst, we don’t aim to have the most jobs — we aim to have the best jobs.” — Virtualmasst's founder
