How VirtualMasst Payments Work

VirtualMasst payments follow a clear sequence. The employer pays upfront through Stripe, using a valid payment method. Funds are held within the Stripe payment flow until release.

  • Payment is made through Stripe, using a valid payment method
  • Funds are held within the Stripe payment flow until release
  • The employer confirms completion before releasing payment
Pre-funding

Job pre-funding

The amount that is pre-funded depends on how the job is structured.

Step 01

Hourly or short-term work

The employer pre-funds the confirmed scope or hours before the work begins.

Step 02

Fixed-price work

The employer pre-funds the agreed fixed amount before the work begins.

Step 03

Larger jobs

For larger jobs, the hiring party can split the work into several projects.

Each project is pre-funded before work on that project begins.

Stripe

Stripe’s role

Employers pay upfront through Stripe, using a valid payment method.

Funds are held within the Stripe payment flow until release.

The employer confirms when the job is complete and releases the payment.

VirtualMasst facilitates the pre-funding and payment process.

Larger jobs

Projects and approval

For a larger job, the hiring party can define several projects.

Step 01

Before a project begins

The employer pre-funds that project.

Step 02

When the project is complete

The employer confirms that the work is complete and releases the payment.

Step 03

After release

Once a project is confirmed and released, that payment is final and non-refundable.

The next project can then proceed under its own agreed scope, deliverables and terms.

Invoicing

Invoicing responsibilities

The talent invoices the employer

The talent invoices the employer in their own name.

PEPPOL for talents across Europe

Use VirtualMasst’s PEPPOL invoicing when needed — fast, compliant, and ready to send.

Or use your own PEPPOL Access Point, if you already invoice through your accounting software.

VirtualMasst provides the exact approved amount and required invoice details, so your invoice is always correct and compliant, no matter which PEPPOL system you use.

Fees

Platform fees

VirtualMasst platform fees are separate from the rate agreed between the employer and the talent.

Payout

Payout timing and eligibility

The talent invoices the employer in their own name.
